Highest classification for the Austrian SDGR-Once-Only

08. October 2024

The Once-Only Technical System Acceleratormeter tracks Member States’ progress towards setting up their national infrastructure at the technical level.

EU Member States are currently implementing the Once-Only Technical System. It will allow citizens and businesses to request official documents, or "evidence," needed for administrative procedures, thus making it easier for them to study, work, live, or retire when moving between EU countries and reducing administrative burden.

What is the OOTS Acceleratormeter?

To create a comprehensive mapping of where the Member States stand in their development, the Commission has introduced the OOTS Acceleratormeter. The Commission uses this meter to track Member States’ progress in implementing the OOTS as they accelerate their implementation through OOTS testing events. During these events, the Member States perform tests, which show whether they are ready to move to the next level in the OOTS Acceleratormeter (Source) .

Cooperation

Germany, the Netherlands and Austria have established a cooperation in 2022 with the aim to intensify the efforts to establish business related Once Only evidence exchange following the Single Digital Gateway Regulation (SDGR). As a result the partnering countries managed to realise real-world tests within a pilot for business portal registration. In June 2024 an representative of an Austrian company registered successfully at the German portal “Wirtschafts-Service-Portal.NRW” (North Rhine-Westphalia) and received Austrian evidence for this process online via Once Only and the use of the Once Only Technical System.

The result: Highest classification for Austrias SDGR-Once Only

The test was a thorough success, and thus resulted in the highest classification (level 6, “full production”) of the Austrian SDGR-Once-Only in the “Acceleratormeter”, the ranking scheme of the EC for SDGR-Once-Only.

Once Only for cross-border exchange of evidences in accordance with the SDGR has been implemented by the Austrian Federal Chancellery, Division VII/5 (E-Government Business), with support from the department “Digital Government & Innovation” from BRZ.
